Returns, made fair.
We're a small team building Robo carefully, one batch at a time. Because of that, our return and cancellation rules are tighter than a big-box store's — but they're written to be fair to both your family and ours. Here's exactly how it works.
Free cancellation — first 7 days
You can cancel your preorder for any reason within 7 days of placing it. Full refund, no fee, no questions. Just email us at hello@rob-o-toy.com with your order number.
After 7 days, before your Robo ships
After the first 7 days but before your Robo has shipped, you can still cancel — we'll refund the amount you paid minus a 15% processing fee.
We'd rather not charge it. The fee exists because the moment you order, we start spending — we reserve a manufacturing slot, activate your Robo's AI configuration with Google, and commit to materials for your unit. If you cancel after that work is underway, we can't fully recover those costs.

After your Robo ships
Once Robo is on his way, we can no longer cancel the order or accept returns for change of mind — that includes wanting a different color, the kid not connecting with him, or any other personal-preference reason.
We know that's stricter than what you might be used to. The reason is simple: we're a small team, and every returned Robo represents a real cost we can't absorb at our current size. We've chosen to price Robo fairly rather than build refund overhead into every order.
The exception below — damage, defect, or our mistake — always applies, and we'll always make those right.
If your Robo arrives damaged or defective
This is different. This is on us.
If Robo arrives damaged, defective (not working as intended), the wrong item, or fails within our 12-month limited warranty — email us right away at hello@rob-o-toy.com with your order number and a photo or short description.
We'll repair or replace him at no cost to you — no return shipping fee, no forms, no hoops. Send the photo, we'll handle the rest. The first Robos are personal to us; we'd rather replace one quickly than make you fight for it.
If we're the ones who delay
If we anticipate missing our 3-month shipping window for any reason, we'll tell you in advance — not after the fact.
From there, the call is yours: wait with us on a new date, or take a full refund — no processing fee. You're the boss.

The AI service
Your 12-month complimentary AI conversation service activates when your Robo arrives. If a full refund is issued (cancellations, damage, defect, or our delay), the AI service ends with the unit — no further action is needed from you.
12-month limited warranty
Every Robo comes with a 12-month limited warranty covering manufacturing defects and component failures under normal use.
The warranty does not cover damage from:
- Accidents or drops
- Misuse, including use outside the recommended age range
- Water damage or exposure to liquids
- Unauthorized modifications or repairs
- Normal cosmetic wear of the plush body
If Robo fails within 12 months under normal use, we'll repair or replace him at no cost.
